Note.
In wh-questions past and future prefixes also change their form.
Past prefix gii- changes into gaa-.
Future prefix wii- changes into waa-.
Future prefix da- is used only referring to 's/he' and 'they'. With 'i' and 'you'
another future prefix is used - ga-:
da-anokii - he will (definitely) work
ninga-anokii - i will (definitely) work
giga-anokii - you will (definitely) work
In wh-questions both ga-
and da- change into ge-.
When past and future prefixes are used in wh-questions with words, starting in i- or a-,
only prefixes change their form, but initial vowels of verbs (i-, a-) stay unchanged:
aaniin ekidoyan? - what did you just say? what are you saying?
aaniin gaa-ikidoyan? - what did you say?
Grammar Note.
In B form with an initial vowel change tense markers also change their form:
gii- changes into gaa-, ga- (future tense marker for 1st and 2d person) and da-
(future tense marker for 3d person) change into ge-; wii- changes into waa-.
